Larry Duff

Band Leader, Drummer, Percussionist

Studied under Billy Cobham for 3 years. Toured here and abroad as a drummer/ percussionist for the Ichiban Record company out of Atlanta. Toured with David Ruffin, Denise LaSalle, Dee Dee Warwick, Clarence Carter, Curtis Mayfield, The Chairman of the Board, Theodis Ealey, Trudy Lynn, Al Jarreau, James Taylor, David Sanborn, Chaka Khan, Bill Pinkey & the Original Drifters, Maurice Williams & The Zodiacs. In Studio Recordings: The Color Purple {Produced by Quincy Jones, Directed by Steven Spielberg} soundtrack " Gods Trying to Tell You Something". The Chairman of the Board songs "Beach Fever" and "I'd Rather be in Carolina. Theodis Ealey album he arranged and produced the Reggae version of "The House of the Rising Sun". Film work includes drummer in the Church scene of "The Color Purple", Robo Cop3, Consenting Adults, Love Potion #9 and drummer in the jazz club in a miniseries "Mama Flora's Family", and an Atlanta production of Jesus Christ Superstar. While performing at the Oscars he was asked to play behind Joan Rivers as she told her jokes after his performance there. Played in the production shows and smaller ensembles for 6 years on Royal Caribbean Cruise lines.

 

Abdul "Sabur" Bismillah

Bass/Vocals/ Arranger/ Producer/Writer

Born to a musical family in 1950 he started singing in church even leading his school glee club in K-12.   Settling on Bass Guitar at 19 he performed all over the country playing all genres of music with multiple bands. He played with a group called STC-4 from 1991 to 97, Eric Culberson Blues Band 97 to 99. Sabur performed on tours in Europe for the Ichiban Record Company out of Atlanta Ga. As a side man he played for David Hudson who was an artist on Willie Mitchel's label. Willie Mitchel's was a producer and writer for Al Green. He toured the country with a variety band called Deas Guyz playing weddings and corporate events singing background ground and lead vocals and was the bands bassist. Sabur is a writer, arranger and producer of his own original music.

Chuck Hutcheson

Saxophone/Keyboards/Trumpet/Vocals

Chuck is a multi-instrumentalist audio engineer, studio owner and music producer. A Georgia Southern University Music Performance major and graduate of The Recording Workshop. Performing keyboards, bass, guitar as well as arranging in the studio. Chuck also sings and is involved in contemporary worship music, blues combos, party bands, jazz combos, solo performances, weddings, corporate events and concerts throughout the southeast. Aside from the MooLaa band some of his associations and partnerships are Derrick Dove and the Peacekeepers, The Page Brothers Band, The Bushmen, Aaron Tanner, Micah Bonn, The Bo Henry Band, Sam's Drive-IN Band, Ella Speed and Divine Devotion. Chuck has co-produced music videos with multi-Grammy nominated producer and director Mil Cannon.

Andrew Wallman

Guitarist/vocals

Andrew is a skillful and versatile guitarist with a profound love and appreciation all types of music. He has years of experience playing Jazz,  Rock and R&B. Andrew masterfully combines technical proficiency with an energetic presence ensuring that every performance feels fresh and memorable. Whether creating a romantic and intimate atmosphere or getting the party started Andrew is devoted to delivering exceptional music at every event.

Daniel Patterson

Keyboards/Vocals

Daniel is a bright young up and coming artist/songwriter. He is an assistant audio engineer (live and studio musician) with the Music Artist Pipeline Studio. Daniel has made appearances on tv and radio broadcasts playing various instruments. He arranged, recorded and released a blues-rock album almost by himself. He is well versed in the Blues, R&B, Jazz, Funk, Fusion and Gospel music. He has worked with The Page Brothers Band, Out Past Nashville, Aaron Tanner, Ella Speed, Zeke Keanum, Anna Beth Gay and Lindsey Morris. 

Bernard Pickney

Vocalist/ Songwriter/Performer

Bernard was born to William and Joan Pickney. He was the second of two children. Unfortunately, his father passed away when he was 5 years old. He was influenced by his mother and three sisters who all sang in local churches in the Savannah area. He began performing at 10 years old in his elementary school talent show. In 1975 his had his first performance with a 5-member band at the age of 12 singing the J-5 " I Want You Back" at the Savannah Civic Center. In 1971 his mother remarried and moved the family to Fairfield California where Bernard met the future players of the band (FBI) Funk Back Inc. band. With Bernard on lead vocals, they performed all around the Bay area. In 1974-1975 FBI would make appearances on the Jay Patterson Television show out of Oakland California. After graduation FBI went their separate ways. Bernard joined Melodic Tones a local Denver Colorado band in 1987 after getting married and having a baby boy put music on hold for a time. He performed with the Melodic Tones band for a few years. He returned to Savannah Ga in 1990. In 1993 He met a drummer and started the Boomerang Band which performed for 25 years until members retired. In 2019 he started The After Hours band which disbanded at the end of 2021.
